Behind the Opera Garnier, La Fayette street begins with many very expensive and not boutiques, World famous shopping.
Galleries Lafayette Paris, sometimes called Galeries Lafayette Haussmann is a French department store chain founded in 1893. In 2009, the chain’s turnover exceeded 1 billion euros. The owners are the Galeries Lafayette group of companies.
The gallery is especially beautiful for the New Year, Christmas days and holidays.
Gallery showcases are miniature displays with moving toys or objects. Crowds of “onlookers”, or rather “visitors”, slowly examining each showcase, step by step go around this entire shopping complex. Naturally, there are also a lot of tourists from Russia here – after all, it’s enough just to get around the Opera from the back to find yourself in this place.
The chain’s flagship is the Parisian analogue of GUM, a passage with a glass dome by Jacques Gruber and Art Nouveau decoration, which was opened in 1912 in Paris, in a building on Boulevard Haussmann opposite the Grand Opera.
